We recently did an article on the "Memphisippi Tour"; a potential collaboration of underground artist from Memphis, Tennese, and Mississippi. Therefore, we wanted to dig further in the Southern hiphop culture to see what they had to offer.

"New Jacks" was a hip hop event held at Morning Bell Record Shop in Jackson, Mississippi. This event allowed 5 rising artists to perform and show their local peers what they had to offer. T$G, Tira D, D.O.L.O, Renee Lee, and Jaxx City were the artists hand picked by its host known as 5th Child. DJ Ray was on what hip hop like to call the 1s & 2s. 5th Child stated:

"The main mission of the show was to introduce some new faces to Jackson's indie hip hop scene. All of the artist were hand picked because they had completed full projects and were really lyrical. None of them were your average, run-of-the-mill trap rappers. They had different styles and they were all unique in their presentation."

We had our own Corinthian Washington on the set for photography and questioning. He stated:

"The show was fun and full of energy. These artists may be seen in the near future at shows and festivals near you. I hope competetion is ready."

Below are photos of the artists that performed along with extras. You must check them out. No excuses.
